The album is a perfect mixture of all the unique musical styles of New Orleans: zydeco, funk, hip-hop, jazz, horns, and so on. The theme here, obviously, is Mardi Gras. And the guests on this album are as diverse as its sounds, from Ivan & Cyril Neville to Mystikal and Mannie Fresh, to a 40 piece highschool marching band.

Tunesday With George: Galactic -- Carnivale Electricos
New Orleans funk-jazz outfit Galactic has always been a juggernaut live, and over the last half decade they've really honed the craft of delivering great studio albums. 2007's From The Corner To The Block saw them team up with some of America's best rappers, 2010's Ya-Ka-May was one of my favorite releases from that year, and their newest album Carnivale Electricos tops them all.
