I think January and February are a great time to clean out your closet. I love this guide from Mimi + Meg to help weed out the unneccessary clothes. I've started taking clothes to a local high-end consignment shop. Knowing that I can get money for something I never wear makes purging much easier. This shop donates anything they won't take to the local Dress for Success, so it is a win win.
