I used to think that the band Calexico got their name by combining California + Mexico. However, my wife informed me that Calexico is actually a town in Southern California...just goes to show you, never stop learning. Algiers, the latest album by this Tucson-based, Southwestern/Tex-Mex influenced indie-rock band is one of their best to date!
