Gone are the days of Sam Beam's quiet, lo-fi recordings under the moniker Iron & Wine. Each successive album has has grown more full, and deviated a bit from previous directions. Ghost On Ghost is no exception, seeing Beam surrounded by his biggest band to date, chock full of horns, strings, and backup singers. The album is filled to the brim with infectious, old-school R&B grooves and soul elements that make it one of the most enjoyable releases of the year so far.
