Mr. Fonty and I jet off on the weekends a lot. Whether it be a weekend wedding, a trip to the mountains, or visiting family, I feel like we are always on the go.
And, not to toot my own horn, but I am a great packer. I can't remember the last time I had to check a bag (and I get really irritated when fellow travelers make us wait at baggage claim).
The art of traveling light is all in planning ahead.
- Plan your outfits in advance - not only do you not come home with 10 unworn tops, but it makes getting dressed out of a suitcase a lot easier
- Mix and match your accessories
- Don't bring outfits that each require a shoe change - you don't need black, brown, and multi-color pumps
- And always wear your biggest items on the plane - ie. boots, jacket
- A clutch that can fit in your carry-on purse is the perfect option for day to night
- Have a jacket or wrap that can work with all your outfits
