Tunesday with George: Megafaun

 

The Durham, NC based folky, psychedelic group Megafaun actually hails mostly from Wisconsin. Brothers Brand and Phil Cook are from Chippewa Falls, and drummer Joe Westerland is from Eau Claire. Before forming Megafaun around '08, the group played together in a few different forms, including the band DeYarmund Edison with Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). When Justin left to do a solo project and later form Bon Iver, the rest stayed together and formed Megafaun.

I've been meaning to see them live for a while, and we attempted to do so Friday night at the 40 Watt.....but showed up late and only made it in time for the last song and a half. As great as that was, I'd still like to catch a full set. I love their new self titled album, and this song from their last album is still my favorite:
