Last week we saw Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin. They keep some pretty good company and surprised the crowd with Cody Dickinson on drums and a guest appearance by Robert Plant (Patty Griffin's may or may not be husband.) Patty Griffin is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters and Buddy Miller is the cornerstone of the Americana Music scene, so it was the perfect early kick-off.

Ode to Joy: Americana Music Fest
The annual Americana Music Festival is upon us. Every year, the best that Americana has to offer descend upon Nashville to play nightly shows at venues all throughout town. Thursday is the Americana Music Awards, a night where some of music's finest finally get their time to shine (since these days you need a great publicist and auto-tune to be nominated for a Grammy).
